Mosquito Control

Mosquito

The City of Omak implemented a mosquito control program in 2015.  We have a crew member who is a certified Public Health Applicator.  The City of Omak will start applying larvicide in mid April followed by the application of adulticides.  This process will begin in the south end of town where the mosquito population is high.  Our mission is to kill the mosquitoes in the first stages of life.  The pesticide application will continue through October.

How can you help?

  • Make sure your roof gutters drain properly and clean clogged drains.
  • Do not over-water your lawn or garden
  • Fix leaky faucets and sprinklers
  • Plant flowers and herbs that deter mosquitoes such as marigolds, lemon grass and geraniums.
