Omak is located at the foot of the Okanogan Highlands in Okanogan County.  The City of Omak was officially incorporated in February 11, 1911.  Omak has a current population of 4,835.  We have the luxury of large-scale stores, historic downtown shopping, medical facilities, outdoor activities, a strong education system and our signature event, the Omak Stampede.  All four seasons are alive and thriving in our region.  Home is where the heart is and Omak is the heart of the Okanogan.  Come and visit us!

WATER CONSERVATION

The goal for the City of Omak is to reduce water use by 1% within the next six years.  Our goal is to educate customers about water conservation.  Together we can accomplish this goal.

Some tips for Conservation

  • Find and fix any leaky faucets - Install efficient faucets
  • Take shorter showers-Replace showerheads with lower flow rate
  • Check toilets to verify they are working properly
  • Sweep outdoor surfaces with a broom instead of using a hose
  • Don't run the hose while washing your car

The City of Omak is working in conjunction with other agencies to offer a Free Spring Clean Up to our residents.  We will be sharing more information when it becomes available.  We are working toward a target of late April or in May.

SPRING CLEAN UP

2019

Our community is such a special place to live and do business. Part of the reason for that is the work done behind the scenes by people who are willing to step up and serve on one of the many committees, commissions or boards that shape this community.

The time commitment is generally very minimal. You may not have to live in the city to participate.

I am asking for people with some extra time, with training or expertise and a sincere desire to be of service to our community to come forward and volunteer.

The Boards, Commissions and committees we have are:

·        The Park Board

·        Planning Commission

·        Civil Service Commission

·        Building Code Appeal Board

·        Library Board

·        Tree Board

Stop by City Hall and find out about the specifics of any of the positions that you are interested in.

You can find out the current meeting schedule and attend a meeting prior to making any application or commitment.

Thank you for your consideration!
