In the heart of the Okanogan

City of Omak

Welcome to the City of Omak, Washington, USA!

Omak is located at the foot of the Okanogan Highlands in Okanogan County. The City of Omak was officially incorporated on February 11, 1911. This year we are celebrating our 100th anniversary. Omak has a current population of 4,721. We have the luxury of large-scale stores, historic downtown shopping, medical facilities, outdoor activities, a strong education system and our signature event, the Omak Stampede. All four seasons are alive and thriving in our region. Home is where the heart is and Omak is the heart of The Okanogan.  Come and celebrate a 100 years with us!

NOTICE OF TWO POSITIONS OPEN

OMAK POLICE DEPARTMENT PATROL OFFICERS

The City of Omak Police Department has two patrol officer positions available, accepting Entry Level or Lateral candidates.

Entry Level: The City contracts written and physical ability testing services for Entry Level candidates with Public Safety Testing (PST), a professional company based in Lynnwood, WA.  Contact PST on their website www.PublicSafetyTesting.com or by phone 1-866-447-3911.  Candidates must pay a fee and register with PST to schedule a date to take the written and physical tests.  Police officer testing will be held on February 21, 2012 in Lynnwood, WA, and March 3, 2012 in Moses Lake, WA.  Candidates must specify that the City of Omak will receive their passing test scores.

Lateral Level:  These candidates are not required to take the written or physical agility tests, but must go to the website and follow the links to Omak Police Department-Lateral to determine if they qualify with the minimum requirements for a lateral position.  Interested and qualified lateral candidates must contact the City of Omak directly for an application.
