Dale Sparber

  Mayor Dale Sparber was a council member for six years prior to filling the position of mayor in January of 2002. Dale grew up in Cashmere and graduated from high school there. He then attended Wenatchee Valley College and the University of Montana.

Dale retired from the lumber mill after working 22 years as a supervisor in the saw filing room. He managed the racquetball club for a couple of years after that.

He is married to Jill and they have three children who live in Spokane, Kennewick and W. Richland. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In his leisure time, Dale enjoys golfing and fishing.

At the present time Dale is chairman of the Economic Alliance for Okanogan County, Past chair and Vice chair of North Central Washington Regional Transportation Organization, serves on the Okanogan Valley Orchestra and Chorus board as well as many other various committees throughout the area. Dale states, "I am a firm believer that it is vitally important for the city to take the lead in bringing jobs and economic development to our city and area and that is one of the reasons I serve on the economic Alliance board."
